A Totally Revolutionary Approach to Antivirus/Spyware Software

Between me and you, I've been waiting years for some kind of new technology to emerge to fight viruses and spyware.

The standard has always been to compare each file to a definition file, which is very time consuming and a resource hog.

Well Sunbelt Software has broken the mold. No one is absolutely sure exactly how at this point, but everyone is excited.

They claim to have a revolutionary approach to fighting malware that is highly effective, yet not a resource hog like almost

every other program on the market today. Best of all the program fights both viruses and spyware all in one package.

Now I do not know exactly what this new technology entails, it's proprietary. But I can tell you this, the memory footprint

is very low. For example, on my system, running my old antivirus, my system memory was at 41% capacity. When I uninstalled

it my memory capacity went down to 32%. Then I installed Vipre, much to my surprise, my memory capacity was at 33%.

Now that's a low memory footprint. As far as my PC's performance, quite honestly, there's been no difference. Still very fast

and responsive but that was one of the main reasons why I chose the last antivirus I was running anyway.

Conclusion Vipre doesn't slow you down, like other antivirus software, like Kapersky. Excellent antivirus but really slows you

down to a crawl. I've always steered away from Kapersky just for that reason, despite their excellent detection rate.

Here's a quote from their news release......

"With VIPRE, we wanted to create something that would leapfrog the industry in terms of system performance with the

ability to deal with today's complex and blended threats," said Alex Eckelberry, CEO of Sunbelt Software. "We started with

a blank slate, and the result is a clean, fast, and comprehensive anti-malware solution."

"An antivirus product is useless if the user uninstalls it due to frustration with high system resource usage, slow boot times,

endless popups and, worse, an inability to deal effectively with certain types of malware," says Eric Sites, CTO of Sunbelt

Software. "VIPRE is designed to be a high-performance product, with broad-ranging detection and remediation of viruses,

trojans, worms, and spyware."

Here's what persuaded me to give it a try.....

Proprietary antivirus and antispyware detection engine uses all-new technology
At VIPRE's core is an antivirus and antispyware engine that merges the detection of all types of malware into a single,

efficient, and powerful system. The new technology was developed exclusively by Sunbelt, without building on older

generation antivirus engines.
VIPRE uses multiple techniques to inspect the characteristics of all types of potentially threatening files. From simple

signature-based detection to dynamic, sophisticated analysis of malware files, VIPRE quickly determines whether a file

is good or bad — enabling comprehensive detection of both existing and new unidentified threats

The thing that really excites me is no longer do I need a separate antivirus and spyware program running on my pc.

It was unfortunate but necessary, if you wanted to remain malware free. Of course only time will tell if this new type

of proprietary detection can withstand the onslaught of today's new viruses, but so far so good. At least this will light

a fire under the butts of the other major players to try and make their products better. This can have positive results

in the long run for us all.

Download it and see for yourself. Note your memory usage before and after as I did.

They have a trial period of 15 days.

Also make note of your system's performance. Should be slightly better than most other programs out there.

Hope this was informative
