Customizing  / Fixing Your Date and Time Formats

 

Whether your date and time formats are out of whack or you just want to customize some settings you should know where to look. I recently had a system glitch that reset my clock appearance to 460323. Glitch or virus? Who knows. But anyway, here's how you change these settings.

 

Goto the control panel in XP and select Regional and Language Options.
 

 

 

Select customize and you will see the screen below

 

 

Select the pull down menu and select the desired format.

 

I typically choose     h:mm:ss tt      note that a lowercase "h" selects the 12 hour format.

 

Here's the legend for the time formats:
